The Revolving Door, ...The Curran Summer Events 2012

The Curran Summer Events 2012,

…The Revolving DooR”

“The Lord will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.” (Psalm 121:8)

We've had a BIG revolving front door at our home on Appalachian Drive this summer.  Daniel left for Florida à, David came back from East Asia ß, Hope left for Hungary à, Daniel returned ß, David moved to San Luis Obispo à, Hannah left for South Africa à, Margee left late July for Miami à  Hope just returned to Miami from Hungary! à Margee and Hope are driving to Orlando today ààà  Margee and Hope fly back to California next week à It’s enough to make our heads spin!!!

How thankful we are that the LORD watches over ALL of our comings and goings!

INSTITUTE OF BIBLICAL STUDIES
(June 14-30) Daniel had another great time coaching a Bible Study Methods course at IBS.  He had 13 new staff from our Pacific Southwest Region in his group. He so enjoys teaching and doing theological development. His days were FULL as he helped to equip a new generation of missionaries in 8 different Bible study methods (“hermaneutics”).  Daniel’s highlight was hosting daily lunches with 3-4 of his students.  His most demanding task was the 4 hours of grading papers each afternoon!

ATHLETES IN ACTION-Berkeley
Margee has had a wonderful time continuing her ministry with the CAL swimmers: weekly Bible studies, hosting a luncheon for them in our home, etc..  A highlight was a Pasta and Prayer night right before everyone left for Olympic Trials in Omaha.  We were able to pray individually and specifically for several of the CAL swimmers headed to trials who are involved with AIA.  Caitlin Leverenz (center front) made the US Team and won the bronze medal in the Women's 200 IM !!

GRADRCU NETWORKS @ UC BERKELEY
GradCru Networks, the missional grad student ministry Daniel's pioneering met weekly this summer on Wednesday nights outdoors at Jupiters in Downtown Berkeley for fellowship and discussions about God | Life | Academics.  Grad students are growing in Christ and reaching out to their friends, meeting in homes for meals and helping one another integrate their faith and work, ...and to discover their callings in the world.

THE CURRAN KIDS
It is a WONDERFUL blessing to watch each of our young-adult children walking with Christ.  The Lord so FAITHFULLY provides for each of them.  We are so proud of our oldest daughter Ebey Curran Sorenson lives San Diego, serving the Lord in her work as a private contract teacher, serving engaged couples at The Flood Church with her husband John, and through their sports training & nutrition business.

David had an amazing year in East Asia. He was able to totally surprise Hope and Hannah by arriving home “unexpectedly” before they each left for their summer mission trips*. With Margee’s help he snuck up on them when we were eating dinner outside! A JOYFUL reunion!! Hope and Hannah LOVE WHERE Jesus has them this summer and HOW He is using them!!   (Hope serving with Student Venture's English Camps on Lake Balaton, Hungary  à  Hannah serving  with Cru at Nelson Mandela University, Port Elizabeth, South Africa à)
